Veolia — LinkedIn Social Media Training 2019

Start employee advocacy on LinkedIn to boost company reputation

The Brief

Veolia approached DBL with the idea of leveraging their employee advocacy program and effectively connecting with professionals via LinkedIn. DBL’s role was to provide an all-round internal training program and strategy for employees attending the Women’s Forum Asia 2019 in Singapore.

The Solution

DBL tailored a training package specifically for Veolia’s employees to enhance their professional skills in communication & digital transformation. We analysed each employee’s LinkedIn account and delivered insightful feedback and guidelines covering all facets of this platform. We also included the current social media landscape across Asia Pacific including Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan to further their understanding of the social media impact in their region. Lastly, DBL engaged with employees through interactive games that put what they learned into action.

Key Takeaways

LinkedIn is the most effective medium for  employee advocacy given its huge network of professionals. The platform consists of 433 million+ professional users such as key opinion leaders, C-level execs, the mass affluent, as well as senior-level influencers. Users can consume a wide-range of specialized content including industry news, expert advice, professional learning and recommendations.

LinkedIn Activation during an event can be beneficial for both the employee and the company. It can help people connect with other professionals who are also attending the same event. As a result, it boosted the brand’s credentials and reputation. Furthermore, employee advocacy on LinkedIn is a strategic, sustainable way that encourages employees to share brand values and messages in an organic way. With this, they can also position themselves as industry experts in the online world.

It is valuable for all employees to receive proper training and learn more about the tools and features available in order to fully leverage their social presence. This also ensures companies maintain a positive reputation while keeping their employees motivated and engaged.
